Health Promoting School

Cross Arthurlie has been officially recognised as a Health Promoting School since April 2005.

We are also Here's Health Award  winners.

October is the first ever International Walk to School Month.

Please take part in our walk to school week (2nd -6th October). We are hoping to encourage more children to walk to school on a regular basis, resulting in healthier children and quieter roads!

Last year, our annual health fortnight ran in the school from

Monday 22nd May until Friday 2nd June 05

On Monday 22nd May, we had a Tae-Kwon Do expert in the school

giving every class a short taster session.

New playground equipment was introduced into the playground. P5 and P6 pupils were given some training with the new playground equipment.

They were then able to demonstrate their skills to the younger pupils.

P6 are enjoying their cycle training

Our school will be participating in

National Walk to School Week.

and have had a promising response to our Walking Buses Questionnaire.

Our Fruit Tuck competition. Every day  we will be tracking how many pupils in P5-7 are buying fruit tuck. The winning class will have a special activity time. All pupils from P1-7 will have the chance to win a prize when they eat fruit over the next 2 weeks.
Healthy Snacks - we would like to encourage pupils to bring a healthy snack to school as many days as possible.
Elections for our new P2 members of the Health Committee were held
  Lots of competitions and prizes.
Wednesday 31st May is Health Day. Pupils were involved in various events and parents were invited to join in.

All pupils were involved in a Healthy Enterprise Event.

Some of their work was displayed / for sale on Health Day.

Sports Day will be on  on Friday 2nd June (weather permitting !)

We would be very grateful for a £1 donation

to help support these health events - thanks !
