Our P5s were very honoured to be invited to St Johns Primary to celebrate World Peace Day on 21st September.
Glenda Thorton of the World Peace Prayer Society introduced the event. There was a flag ceremony and we helped to plant a Peace Pole. We heard messages of peace from invited guests and shared peace poems from P5 pupils. Kenneth McIntosh, MSP concluded the event as we all shared a 1 minute silence of reflection at 12 o'clock.
Meroula and Noah were chosen to read out poems that Mrs Mitchell and Miss Redmond had found on the web. We felt that these conveyed the message of World Peace.

How Peace Begins

Peace begins with saying sorry

Peace begins with not hurting others.

Peace begins with honesty and trust.

Peace begins with showing cooperation and respect.

World peace begins with us!

A Thought

People that walk the Earth have a heart inside,

Put aside differences and join hands,

When prayers and dreams are answered,

Only then will we realise that

World Peace and harmoney make us one.
